March 9, 2004 One bit of advice, people: being belligerent and obnoxious while asking me to remove your IP ban isn't the smartest thing to do. I am not obligated to remove the ban for anyone. The only people I *NEED* to remove the ban for are those who donate to this site, and seeing as those people are few and far between, I don't forsee myself *NEEDING* to remove the individual bans any time soon. March 2, 2004 My Choice song time! ^_^ This week, I've decided to showcase one of my all-time favorite songs, by one of my favorite artists. "Watashi to Warutsu wo" by Onitsuka Chihiro is such beautiful piece...it captured my heart the first time I heard it. The song was used as the theme song for Trick 3, a Japanese drama series (J dorama), and was released on Chihiro's 10th CD single. An absolutely lovely song, with haunting lyrics. February 24, 2004 Yes, I know, one day late. =P I'm here now, aren't I? ^^Some of you may have already noticed the slight changes I made to the site. Nothing cosmetic, just to the codes in the download section. The major change is that I have started banning IP addresses. I warned you I would if people didn't stop flooding me with connections, and now I finally took the time to implement it. Some of these bans will only last a month or so...depending on how generous I feel. And for some of the others, I'm willing to remove the ban if you email me with your IP address, since the offense wasn't too serious. However, there is absolutely NO reason for there to be over 2000 connections from ONE IP address, is there? >.< If you share an IP address with someone who is banned, sorry, you'll just have to wait until the ban is lifted to download again. The second change I made was also to the music download page. I've noticed that many of you have bookmarked that page, and that page only. That's a no-no. I ask that all bookmarks be directed to http://www.jalana.com only...or at least the page after the entry splash page. Now, when people attempt to bypass this site to get to the music, they are directed immediately to the splash page. The last bit is a reminder for everyone. DO NOT link directly to the files!!! It not only steals my bandwidth, which I consider to be rudeness in itself, but it is also pretty pointless when I change the songs every two weeks. I would appreciate it if you would direct people to the site itself to download the songs, instead of just linking to the files. Thanks! And finally, we get to the songs. December 19, 2003 Okay, for those of you who are STILL having problems downloading from the site, I've changed the rules a bit. You can now use download manager/accelerator programs to download the files...HOWEVER, do NOT set the programs to multiple connections! Keep it at one connection only...multiple connections eat up bandwidth, which I pay for. If I see that an IP address has multiple connections, I WILL ban that IP. If that affects more than one person, tough luck. I'm not going to pay money every month only for a few people to enjoy the songs. Keep in mind some programs, like GetRight, are incompatible with this server. If your program asks you for a password to download the song, then it, too, is incompatible. In that case, download the file directly with the browser, or try using a different program. We'll see how this goes. If too many people abuse this, I will reinstate the 'No Download Accelerators' rule. Merry Christmas! ^_^ |
